01Who We Are
Boekweg Construction, LLC is a timber framing business registered in the United States and working from a saw shed in Mount Pleasant, Utah. The company draws, cuts and raises barn frames, porch trusses and beam repairs, and it also runs the website you are reading now. The website is published under the developer name Boekweg Build, which is the name used for website authorship and for the development record of this site. The company and the developer name describe the same operation, and this Policy is issued by Boekweg Construction, LLC on behalf of both.
Our postal address is 180 E 700 S, Mount Pleasant - 84647-2041, United States (US). Our contact email address is build@boekwegbuild.buzz and our contact phone number is +16078914351. These details are repeated at the end of this Policy so that you never need to search for them.
For the purposes of data protection law in the United States, Boekweg Construction, LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this Policy. As controller we decide why information is collected, what it is used for and how long it is kept. We take that responsibility seriously and we have written this Policy in plain language so that any reader can understand what happens to information sent to the shed.
02Scope of This Policy
This Policy covers the public website at www.boekwegbuild.buzz, including the home page, the services page, the contact page and the legal pages. It applies to information collected through the contact form, through email messages sent to the shed office, through telephone calls to the published number, and through ordinary browsing of the website.
This Policy does not cover the internal systems that Boekweg Construction, LLC uses to run its business, except where those systems hold information originally collected through the website. It also does not cover websites operated by other companies, even where a link to such a website appears on our pages. Once you follow a link away from our site, the privacy policy of the destination site applies and you should read it.
By using this website you confirm that you have read this Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described here, please do not use the contact form and contact the shed office by telephone instead. Sending a note by telephone is always permitted and does not depend on any website action.
03Information You Provide
We collect the information you choose to give us. The contact form on this site asks for four fields: your name, your email address, a subject line and a message. When the form is submitted, your own email application opens and the note is sent from your mailbox to build@boekwegbuild.buzz. The website itself does not store form entries on a server, but the message that reaches the shed office becomes part of our correspondence record.
Beyond the contact form, you may provide information in a number of ordinary business situations. You may describe a building, a barn, a porch or a repair in an email. You may send photographs or sketches of a site. You may give a postal address for a survey visit, a gate code for a rural property or the name of a person who will meet the crew on a raising day. You may also give billing details, insurance certificates or permit references when a project moves forward.
Job applicants who write to the shed office may share a work history, references and contact details. Suppliers may share bank details, delivery schedules and the names of drivers. We use all of this information only for the purpose for which it was given and for the ordinary administration of a timber framing business.
We ask that you do not send sensitive information through the contact form. Details of medical conditions, government identification numbers, financial account numbers and similar information should be shared only by a method that the shed office has agreed to in advance.
04Information Collected Automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure records basic technical information when a page is requested. This can include the Internet Protocol address from which the request came, the type and version of the browser, the operating system, the date and time of the request, the page requested and the address of the page that referred you to us. These records are produced by web server software and are used to keep the site running, to diagnose faults and to protect against abuse.
We do not run advertising networks, we do not build behavioural profiles and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from technical logs. The logs we keep are examined in aggregate, for example to notice that a page is unavailable or that a script is failing, and individual entries are reviewed only when a security incident or a technical fault requires it.
The website does not include social media tracking pixels, cross site advertising beacons or audience measurement scripts from third party advertising companies. If this ever changes, this Policy will be updated before the change takes effect and an appropriate notice will appear on the site.
05Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website is built from static pages and a small script that controls the navigation menu, the reveal of page sections and the behaviour of the contact form. Those functions do not require advertising cookies. The hosting platform may set a strictly technical cookie or use a local storage entry where it is necessary to deliver the site securely, to balance traffic or to remember a security challenge. Such entries carry no advertising purpose and are not used to follow you across other websites.
You can control cookies through the settings of your browser. Most browsers allow you to block third party cookies entirely, to clear existing cookies and to be warned before a cookie is stored. Blocking technical cookies may cause parts of the site to work less smoothly, but the written content of every page will remain readable.
Where the website uses a browser storage entry to remember that you have already seen a navigation menu opened, that entry exists only in your browser and is not transmitted to the shed office. Clearing your browser storage removes it completely.
06How We Use Information
We use information for the purposes that a timber framing firm genuinely needs. We answer inquiries about barn frames, porch trusses, beam repairs, timber sourcing, drawing sets and raising day scheduling. We prepare surveys, estimates and drawing sets. We arrange sourcing runs, order timber and schedule delivery. We plan and carry out raising days, including crane bookings, and we keep records of the work so that a frame can be repaired or extended years later.
We also use information to keep the business running in an orderly way. This includes maintaining correspondence files, invoicing for completed work, meeting insurance and permit requirements, keeping safety records and resolving any dispute that may arise. Where a client asks for a written handover pack, we use the contact details on file to deliver it.
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent email lists. We do not send marketing messages to people who have asked us not to contact them. If we ever wish to send an occasional project note to past clients, we will ask first and we will stop immediately on request.
07Legal Bases for Processing
For visitors in jurisdictions that require a stated legal basis, we rely on a small number of grounds. Where you send an inquiry through the contact form, we process the information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or because you have given clear consent by choosing to make contact.
Where a project is underway, we process information because it is necessary to perform the contract with you. This includes site addresses, survey notes, drawing sets and the records required to plan and complete a raising day.
We process some information because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe and solvent business. This covers keeping technical logs for site security, maintaining records of completed work and protecting the company against fraud or misrepresentation. Where we rely on this ground we balance it against your rights and we limit the processing to what is genuinely necessary.
Finally, we process information where the law requires it, for example to respond to a valid legal request, to meet tax and accounting duties or to comply with health and safety obligations on a building site.
08Sharing with Service Providers
We share information with service providers who help the shed operate, and only to the extent needed for the service they provide. Our website is hosted by a cloud hosting provider, and that provider processes technical request data on our behalf. Our email is delivered through a mail provider that stores correspondence in a business mailbox. Our accounting records may be handled by a bookkeeper or an accounting platform.
Each provider is expected to protect information, to use it only for the agreed purpose and to return or delete it when the relationship ends. We do not permit a provider to use our client information for its own marketing. Where a provider processes information outside the United States, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is lawful and that the information remains protected.
We never share the content of a client inquiry with an unrelated business for advertising purposes. A supplier who quotes for timber receives the dimensions and species needed to quote, not the client contact details beyond what the quotation requires.
09Project Partners and Subcontractors
Timber framing is collaborative work. A raising day may involve a crane company, a haulage firm, a structural engineer, a building inspector or a specialist who repairs a particular beam. Where these partners need information to do their part, we share the minimum necessary, such as the site address, the lift plan, the drawing set and a contact for the day.
Partners are told that the information is supplied for the project only. Where a partner is itself a controller of the information, for example an engineer issuing a certificate, that partner is responsible for its own compliance and its own privacy notice applies to its records.
We do not share client information with a partner for a project the client has not requested. If a partner asks for information about a different project, we decline unless the client has agreed.
10Shed Office Records
The shed office holds the working records of the business in paper and in electronic form. Paper files include signed drawing sets, survey notes and delivery dockets. Electronic files include correspondence, drawing revisions, quotations and invoices. These records are kept so that a frame can be understood, repaired or extended long after the original raise.
Access to the office records is limited to the people who need them. Drawing sets are archived by project and by year. Correspondence is filed by client name. Records are backed up so that a machine failure does not lose the history of a frame, and backups are subject to the same access limits as the live files.
When a record reaches the end of its retention period, it is destroyed in a manner that prevents reconstruction. Paper is shredded and electronic files are deleted from live systems and from backups in the ordinary course of the backup cycle.
11Photographs and Site Visits
We often photograph a site during a survey and photograph a frame during a raising day. These images help the shed document the work, check a joint after the fact and show future clients how a frame is built. Where a photograph includes a person who is identifiable, we ask for permission before publishing it on the website or using it in a portfolio.
Visitors to the shed and to a raising day are welcome, but the yard is a working site. Sign in at the office or with the lift boss on arrival. The crew will point out the safe standing area. Photographs taken by the company during a visit may include the yard and the frame; personal portraits are taken only with agreement.
If you appear in a published photograph and would prefer that it were removed, write to build@boekwegbuild.buzz with a description of the image and the page where it appears. We will remove or replace it without argument.
12Data Retention
We keep information only as long as we need it. General website correspondence is usually kept for two years after the last exchange, after which it is reviewed and either archived with an active project or deleted. Inquiries that do not proceed to a survey are deleted after twelve months.
Project records, including drawing sets, surveys, quotations and completed work records, are kept for as long as the building stands or for a minimum of ten years, whichever is longer. This reflects the practical reality that a question about an old frame can arise decades after the raise, and the answer is often in the original drawing set.
Financial and tax records are kept for the period required by applicable law. Safety records are kept for the period recommended by our insurer. Where a legal claim is open or reasonably anticipated, relevant records are kept until the matter is resolved.
13Data Security
We protect information with measures that suit the size and nature of the business. The website is served over an encrypted connection. Office machines require a password and are locked when unattended. Paper drawing sets are stored in the shed office rather than left in the yard. Backups are kept separate from live files so that a single failure cannot erase the record of a frame.
Staff and crew are briefed on handling client information. Nobody outside the office has routine access to the project archive, and access is granted only to those who need it for a current task. When someone leaves the business, access is removed at the point of departure.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law, and we will explain what happened in plain language. You can help by using a strong password for your own email account and by sending sensitive documents only when the shed office has agreed to the method.
14Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to ask whether we hold information about you, to receive a copy of it, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information deleted and to restrict or object to certain processing. You may also have the right to receive your information in a portable format.
To exercise a right, write to build@boekwegbuild.buzz with enough detail to identify the records you mean. We may ask for proof of identity so that we do not disclose information to the wrong person. We will respond within the time allowed by law, and at no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or repetitive.
If we cannot fulfil a request, we will explain why. Some records must be kept regardless of a request, for example financial records required by tax law or records needed for an open legal claim. Where a record includes information about other people, we may redact the parts that concern them.
You will never be penalised for exercising a privacy right. We will not refuse a survey or delay a repair because a client has asked for a copy of their records or has asked us to stop sending non essential messages.
15California and Utah Notices
Residents of California may have specific rights under state privacy law, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Boekweg Construction, LLC does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross context behavioural advertising. Requests from California residents can be made using the contact details in this Policy and will be handled on the same basis as any other request.
Residents of Utah have rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act where that law applies to a business of our size and activity. These can include the right to confirm whether we process personal data, to access it, to correct it and to delete it, and to obtain a copy in a portable format. We do not use personal data for targeted advertising and we do not sell it.
If you are unsure whether a state law applies to your request, send the request anyway. We would rather answer a question that was not strictly required than leave a genuine concern unanswered.
16International Visitors
The shed is in the United States and the website is operated from there. If you visit from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from the law of your home country. We take reasonable steps to protect information in line with this Policy regardless of where it is processed.
Where a transfer from a jurisdiction with restricted transfers is involved, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism such as standard contractual clauses offered by a provider, or on a specific exception that applies to the situation. You can ask the shed office for more detail about the mechanism used for a particular transfer.
Nothing in this section limits any right that you have under the mandatory law of your home country. If a local law gives you a stronger right than this Policy describes, that law prevails for you.
17Privacy for Children
This website is intended for adults making decisions about buildings, repairs and construction. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of sixteen. The contact form should not be used by a child to send personal details.
If a child has sent information to the shed office, a parent or guardian can write to build@boekwegbuild.buzz and request that it be deleted. We will act promptly once we are satisfied that the request comes from a parent or guardian. We will not ask the child for further information in order to process the deletion.
Families are welcome at raising days, and children may appear in a photograph taken at such an event. We publish such a photograph only with the agreement of a parent or guardian, and we remove it on request.
18Third Party Links
Our pages may link to the websites of suppliers, professional bodies, mapping services or public authorities. These links are offered as a convenience. We do not control the content or the privacy practices of those websites, and a link does not imply that we endorse everything found there.
When you leave our site, take a moment to read the privacy notice of the destination. If you are asked for personal information on a site that we linked to and you are unsure whether the request is genuine, contact the shed office and we will help you check.
We check external links from time to time and remove links that no longer lead to a useful page. If you find a broken or misleading link on our site, please tell us so that it can be fixed.
19Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when the way the shed handles information changes, when a new service is added to the website or when the law requires a change. The date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect.
Where a change is significant, we will post a clear notice on the home page for a reasonable period and, where we hold a current email address for you and the change affects you directly, we will send a short message. Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect means that the updated Policy applies.
Older versions of this Policy are kept in the shed office archive so that a client can see what applied at the time information was collected. To request an older version, write to the contact address below.
20How to Contact Us
If anything in this Policy is unclear, or if you want to exercise a right, ask a question or raise a concern, please contact the shed office. We would much rather hear from you early than find out about a problem later.
